The former mayoral residence opens as a complex cultural space

The former Busan mayoral residential complex, famously featured in the 2022 Korean drama “Reborn Rich(재벌집 막내아들),” has been transformed into a mixed-use space open to the public.

Located on the slope of Hwangnyeonsan Mountain in Suyeong-gu District, the site has been remodeled to serve as a venue for leisure, tourism, exhibitions, conferences and education.

The cultural space, newly christened as “Domoheon,” features a two-story building surrounded by beautifully landscaped gardens.

On the first floor, visitors will find Momos Coffee, the latest outpost of one of Busan’s most well-known cafes, and the Sosopung Lounge, a multi-cultural open space where visitors can relax with a book or view an exhibition.

There is also the bi-level Dahal Lecture Hall for meetings, lectures and presentations. Shared workspaces, conference rooms and meeting areas are spread throughout the first and second floors, making Domoheon the ideal space for business activities.

Outside, visitors will find Sosopung Garden, Busan’s first “living garden.” A living garden is an open, publicly maintained green space designed for rest, cultivation and community care. The garden features walking trails, an expansive lawn, a pond and views of Gwangalli Bridge.

The name “Domoheon” comes from the Korean word “domohada,” which means “to try something new.” Officials hope Domoheon will be a place where citizens gather to discuss new ideas and pursue new ventures.

Domoheon hosts live performances, talks, concerts, events, and film screenings open to the public. Visit the official homepage for more information.
