Capture Busan's charms in 60 seconds

Busan is seeking submissions for the latest new media contest. Roughly translated as "We are Looking for Real Busan" (마.이.부를 찾습니다), the contest asks residents to share video clips of life in the city.

The contest name is a short form of the sentence "마 이기 부산이다," which means "Hey, it's real Busan," expressed in the unique sound and wit of the Busan dialect.

Contestants, either individually or as a team, can submit 60-second video clips (YouTube Shorts) showcasing the city's visions: "The city where children are happy" (아동이 행복한 도시), "the ideal city for sports" (생활체육천국도시), and "the city of coffee" (커피도시).

Participation is open to Korean and foreign residents, and the videos may be in Korean or English.

To enter, participants must post a video on their personal YouTube channel with the contest hashtags: #부산공모전 #마이부를찾습니다 #부산튜브. Plus, videos must be tagged with the hashtag denoting which of the city's visions is showcased: #아동이행복한도시 (the city where children are happy), #생활체육천국도시 (the ideal city for sports), or #커피도시 (the city of coffee).

Finally, participants must submit an application through the BaDaTV website, Busan's official portal of online content and social media presence. Follow the navigation menu (바다스페셜〉뉴미디어공모전) to see submission details.

Submissions will be accepted until 6 p.m. on Oct. 31.

Officials will review the videos and announce 15 winners on Nov. 22 via BaDaTV and the city's official social media channels.

The winners will receive cash prizes, including:

- 1 million won for one grand prize winner.

- 600,000 won each for three second-place winners.

- 200,000 won each for 11 third-place winners.
