Direct flights from Busan to Bali and Jakarta
Busan travelers will now be able to fly directly to more Asian destinations.
On May 24, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport distributed transportation rights for 30 routes to 11 domestic airlines. As a result, passengers traveling through Gimhae International Airport can fly directly to Bali and Jakarta in Indonesia.
Under the agreement, Air Busan will operate four flights a week from Busan to Bali.
There will be seven flights a week from Busan to Jakarta; Jin Air will operate four flights, and Air Busan will operate three.
This is welcome news for locals, as Indonesia is a popular leisure and business travel destinations. Passengers to these destinations will no longer be forced to fly through Incheon Airport.
In addition, Gimhae was the only regional airport to secure two long-distance routes of over 5,000 kilometers. These routes should attract more inbound tourists and reinvigorate the local economy and tourism industry.
The city will fully support the launch of safe and seamless operation of the new routes this year.
