Daily Busan, which delivers information on news, festivals and events citywide, conducted a reader satisfaction survey from July 25 to Aug. 13.
A total of 283 readers, 157 men and 126 women, responded to the online questionnaire. By age group, people in their 50s comprised the largest cohort at 123 individuals, followed by 92 respondents in their 40s, 55 individuals in their 30s, 10 individuals in their 20s and three teens.
The result findings indicate Daily Busan is meeting reader expectations, as 9 out of 10 respondents said they were satisfied with the articles. Survey results also showed that over 90% find Daily Busan articles easy to read and understand; 93% also said that the article lengths are appropriate.
An overwhelming majority, 93% of respondents, believe that Daily Busan provides valuable information to the city's residents, with 88% of respondents agreeing that Daily Busan delivers information about the city that is different from other news sources.
The most popular articles to date are about Busan's support for start-up companies, the best locations to view flowers in bloom, and a feature on Haeundae Blue Line Park.
When asked what kind of content Daily Busan should focus on in the future, 44% of respondents favor more articles on Busan's culture and tourism; 27% prefer articles on daily life; 17% prefer articles on city government policies. Another 13% of respondents said they would enjoy content featuring Busan citizens.
Reflecting on the survey results, Daily Busan will launch new content for readers.
The "Busan Travel Log" will feature locals and tourists writing about their Busan travel experiences. Another section, "Study with Daily Busan," will provide educational content to help readers improve their English skills.
