Residency visas for international students
Yeongdo-gu (district), Dong-gu and Seo-gu have been designated as the first areas in Busan to pilot the Ministry of Justice's visa project. The program issues F-2 visas to internat-ional students who satisfy primary and specific conditions for a design-ated period in areas with decreasing populations.
Busan Metropolitan City will issue 110 F-2 visas to outstanding local international students. City Hall will cooperate with local universities, the Busan Foundation for International Cooperation (BFIC), Busan Economic Promotion Agency Project and the Busan immigration office to link current, former and prospective international students from Busan universities to local companies.
The initiative is expected to revitalize the city's economy where maritime and tourism sectors suffer from a shortage of employees. Visit the BFIC's website (bfic.kr/new/english) for more information, including requirements and applications.
