Spring is in the air at art exhibitions across the city
The Culture Platform in Dong-gu District is hosting "Spring Light," an exhibition by Portuguese photographer Teresa Freitas. Freitas is renowned for her ability to craft dreamy, pastel-toned images and has collaborated with esteemed brands such as Netflix, Dior and Chloe.
The Busan exhibition presents 80 pieces of work that celebrate the spring season. Through Freitas's lens, visitors are treated to a colorful array of flowers, buildings and natural landscapes. There are also glimpses of the artist's studio life. Her signature style infuses everyday imagery with a warm, fairytale-like ambiance.
The exhibition is divided into six sections: "Among the Flowers," "Spring Dreams," "At Home," "In Color," "Spring in the City," "La Muralla Roja" and "By the Water." Visitors can enjoy an immersive viewing experience thanks to a carefully curated photo gallery enhanced by media installations.
"Spring Light" is on until April 21. The exhibition is open daily from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., except Mondays. The last admission is at 6 p.m. Admissions is 12,000 won for minors and 15,000 won for adults. Dong-gu residents can buy tickets for 10,500 won. Please note that the exhibition space does not permit DSLR cameras and other high-resolution photography equipment.

The Yeongdo Cultural and Art Center is hosting a special exhibition titled "The Spring Picnic" to celebrate the reopening of Jeoryeong Hall. The free exhibition is on until April 30.
"The Spring Picnic" displays replica artworks by esteemed French Impressionists such as Camille Pissaro, Claude Monet and Pierre-Auguste Renoir.
Impressionism, an art movement that flourished in the 19th century, is characterized by distinctive features, including small, visible brush strokes, open compositions, a focus on capturing the changing qualities of light over time, ordinary subject matter, unusual visual angles and the inclusion of movement as crucial elements of human perception and experience.
The exhibition is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. except on Sundays and public holidays.
