The 43rd Busan International Short Film Festival will take place from April 23 to 28 at the Busan Cinema Center in Haeundae-gu District and BNK Busan Bank Art Cinema Corner Theater in Jung-gu District.

This year’s festival presents the theme “Cinéma & Lumière,” focusing on light—the fundamental element of cinema and the point from which the art of film begins and ends.

The festival will showcase around 150 short films, carefully selected from 5,966 entries submitted by filmmakers from 124 countries. The films will compete for awards across 12 categories.

In celebration of the 140th anniversary of Korea-France diplomatic relations, this year’s festival designates France as the Guest Country, inviting audiences to experience the distinctive allure of French cinema. The closing ceremony will take place at 7 p.m. on April 28 at the Busan Cinema Center, where the most outstanding works will be awarded.

Tickets are available for purchase on the Busan Cinema Center website. Each screening will feature multiple short films shown consecutively, with each film running 30 minutes or less. General admission for adults is 8,000 won, with various discounts available for eligible groups.

For screening schedules and film introductions, please visit the official BISFF or Busan Cinema Center websites.
