Busan's running scene just got a serious upgrade. Dadaepo Beach has unveiled a new Runner Support Facility, a dedicated space to help people meet their daily exercise goals.

Open to the public with no prior registration required, the facility features changing rooms, lockers and powder rooms. It is open daily from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m., though hours may adjust based on demand. Entry is done through Naver’s QR code authenticator; step-by-step instructions are posted at the entrance so first-timers can enter without issues.

This opening marks a milestone in Busan's growing sports infrastructure — and it's just the beginning. A second facility is slated to open later in 2026 at Geumnyeonsan Station, right near the popular Gwangalli Beach running route. The city also plans to install lockers and support amenities at Busan Citizens Park and North Port Waterfront Park (Chinsu Park).

Busan isn't just building facilities — it's building a culture of running. Starting in May, the "Run Busan" coaching program kicks off for those looking to sharpen their form and hit their PRs. October brings a citizen-centered running festival to North Port Waterfront Park, and the year wraps up with the inaugural Busan International Marathon in December.

With its stunning coastline and expanding infrastructure, Busan is fast becoming one of Korea's premier cities for runners.
