Read books with a breeze at the 2025 Busan Sea Library

The 2025 Busan Sea Library will be held every weekend from June 14 to 29 at Millak Waterside Park. Blending Busan’s coastal charm with the joy of reading, this unique cultural event transforms a scenic seaside space into an open-air library filled with books, insights and community spirit.
Visitors can explore themed reading zones and enjoy a variety of cultural programs, all thoughtfully designed through the collaboration of public libraries, bookstores, publishers and cultural organizations in the city.
Around 2,000 curated books will be featured in the Book Curation Zone. The main reading area will offer cozy seating where guests can relax with a book and enjoy the sea breeze.
Other zones invite visitors to interact with books in creative ways. The E-Book Zone introduces digital libraries, while the Book-Mung Zone welcomes pet lovers to enjoy reading with their dogs. In a hand-copying station, participants can write down memorable quotes from books, allowing them to reflect on the words more deeply through the tactile act of handwriting.
The Reading Culture Playground will host various engaging programs, from author talks and family-friendly multisensory reading sessions to yoga meditation. There will also be event spaces for book sales, flea markets, and a cozy book-and-coffee talk program called “Read Brew,” offering visitors more ways to connect with the world of literature. Once the sun sets, performances like jazz, classical music and B-boy dance shows will keep the festive energy alive well into the night.
