Readers’ favorite phrases

Busan is Good, the city’s English newspaper, presents selected readers’ favorite phrases.

These are phrases that comfort the readers through hard times, that brighten their moods, that stick in their minds, or that they say to their loved ones.

“Busan is good”
-Yang Yeong Sim-

As a cultural commentator, I am so glad to have the city’s new slogan, “Busan is good.” Each letter in the word “good” stands for the city's charms. G for global, O for original, O for open, and D for dynamic. I always explain the new slogan and its meaning to my foreign customers and every time, I get great responses.

“Let bygones be bygones.”
-Lee Seung Gu-

It means, “Let's leave the unpleasantness between us in the past and move forward.” It has been on my mind since I heard it in a movie.

“This too shall pass.”
-Eo Hye Chong-
I think it sends a very important message in hard times, like now. I always tell this phrase to people around me because I hope they keep living their lives even if they are experiencing hard times. I sometimes speak this phrase to myself to soothe and comfort me.
