The 2024 Busan Ballet Season begins Nov. 15

The Busan Cinema Center presents the 2024 Busan Ballet Season at Haneulyeon Theatre, a series of performances hosted by the Busan Opera House’s ballet company.
The Busan Ballet Season will promote the successful construction of the Busan Opera House and foster citizens’ interest in ballet.
Busan-born ballerina Kim Joo-won serves as artistic director for the season, with 28 dancers—10 of whom are local performers from Busan—participating. The event is expected to nurture local talent and expand opportunities for Busan residents.
The season includes two performances: “Shining Wave” and “White Ballet Sonnet.”
“Shining Wave,” scheduled to run from Nov. 15 to 17, combines elements of classical and neoclassical ballet and explores themes of unity, healing and growth. Tickets range from 20,000 to 50,000 won.
“White Ballet Sonnet,” a ballet gala performance with commentary, will run at 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 3 and 4. The show will feature scenes from classics such as “Swan Lake” and “The Nutcracker.” Tickets cost 30,000 won.
