Ahead of the final vote for the right to host the World Expo 2030, a spectacular fireworks display will light up the night sky over Busan, expressing the hope and aspiration of winning the Expo bid. The Busan International Fireworks Festival will take place on Nov. 4 at Gwangalli Beach, Dongbaek-seom Island and Igidae.

The festival presents a variety of programs, such as magnificent fireworks that you can see only in Busan, a media facade harmonized with Gwangandaegyo Bridge lighting, a multimedia show combining spectacular fireworks, lighting, music and storytelling techniques, and international fireworks teams.

Starting from 2 p.m. on the festival day, the main strip along Gwangalli Beach will turn into “Fireworks Street” and offer various activities. Citizens can enjoy live performances and drawing on the street with chalk.

During the Fireworks Talk Show from 6 to 7:50 p.m., people can learn about fireworks from pyrotechnic professionals. The show will help set the atmosphere before the main event.

The fireworks set off at 8 p.m., under the theme of “Dream, a Stage Where Dreams Come True.” The hourlong display will be an iconic spectacle that captivates audiences from all corners of the globe. The grand finale will create a breathtaking panorama that illuminates the night sky and leaves spectators in awe.

The city anticipates a million people will come and witness the extravaganza. In preparation for the massive turnout, Busan has mobilized thousands of city officials, personnel and volunteers to ensure the safety and well-being of all audience members.

The Busan International Fireworks Festival will be live-streamed on various platforms; those who cannot see the spectacle in person can still enjoy it via the official YouTube channels of the Busan Metropolitan City, local news stations such as Busan MBC, KNN news and a radio channel, KNN “Power FM” 99.9Mhz.
