Opening Film: "The Table: Day and Night"
[The Beginning and the End] Opening & Closing Films
Kick off the festival with its opening-night premiere, then close it out with the film that takes home this year's top prize. Both nights begin with a red carpet at 6 p.m., followed by the main ceremony and film screening. The two nights bookend 10 days of cinema, and each one is an event of its own.

BIFF History in 30 Seconds
1996: The first Busan International Film Festival is held.
2011: Busan Cinema Center opens as the festival's new home.
2025: BIFF launches its first official competition section.
2026: BIFF earns A-list accreditation from the International Federation of Film Producers Associations (FIAPF).
