What to do this weekend: 2026 Korea BamBam Festa
From July 18 to 19, the 2026 Korea BamBam Festa will take place at the Busan Cinema Center in Haeundae-gu District. Held sequentially in 10 cities across Korea, the festival celebrates the unique charm of summer nights in each host city. This year’s edition kicks off in Busan, where visitors can also enjoy an outdoor movie night as part of the 2026 Busan Travel Film Festa.
Under the slogan of “A Midsummer Night’s Rest—Pause, Recharge, and Stay,” the festival presents a variety of cultural programs designed to create a relaxed summer evening atmosphere. Highlights include an outdoor library, a Fever Candlelight Concert, and a special pop-up convenience store.
While the festival is best known for its nighttime programs, visitors can also enjoy daytime activities throughout the weekend. The Urban Outdoor Library offers a peaceful place to unwind with a good book. Featuring around 500 carefully selected titles, the Beading Lounge space has beanbags and camping chairs for a comfortable reading experience. Visitors can also take part in a small writing activity by copying memorable lines from popular films, offering a nostalgic way to revisit favorite scenes or discover new stories.
Adding to the festive atmosphere, the BamBam Convenience Store serves a variety of ramyeon, including a special dwaeji gukbap ramyeon inspired by Busan’s signature pork soup. Visitors can also sample traditional liquors and enjoy cold beers. International travelers can even experience Korea’s unique food-delivery culture through a fun hands-on activity.
On July 18, the Fever Candlelight Concert will illuminate the outdoor theater with thousands of candles and beautiful live performances. Blending classical masterpieces with beloved film soundtracks, the concert promises a memorable evening beneath the summer night sky. Admission is free, with two performances scheduled from 7 to 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 to 10 p.m.
The opening ceremony of the Busan Travel Film Festa will also take place on July 18, followed by a free outdoor screening of “The Fall: Director’s Cut” beginning at 7:30 p.m. Together, the two events create a memorable summer evening where visitors can enjoy music, cinema and the glittering city lights all in one place. Please note that outdoor programs may be canceled due to inclement weather.
