2025 Busan World Drone Festival will light up the night sky

From Sept. 20 to 21, the North Port Waterfront Park (Chinsu Park) will light up the night sky – not with stars but with drones.
The 2025 Busan World Drone Festival, part of Festival Shiwol, will present spectacular performances under the theme “Together Toward Hope.” As Korea’s largest drone light show, teams from the United States, Vietnam, and China, recognized for their innovative use of drone technology, will compete through dazzling displays that transform the dark sky into a canvas of light.
The two-night event begins at 9:30 p.m. on Sept. 20 with the Fireworks Drone Show. The 30-minute show will feature lasers, fireworks, and drones working together to create a spectacular display for audiences.
The main competition begins at 7:40 p.m. on Sept. 21. The schedule for the evening is:
- 7:40 – 7:55 p.m.: Opening ceremony & introduction of participating countries
- 7:55 – 8:10 p.m.: U.S. Team drone performance
- 8:10 – 8:30 p.m.: Vietnam Team drone performance
- 8:30 – 8:50 p.m.: China Team drone performance
After the final performance, audiences can select the most impressive show during a 15-minute online voting period. One hundred voters will be randomly chosen to receive Starbucks vouchers. Final rankings will be determined through a 50-50 combination of professional judges’ evaluations and audience vote.

Please note that the Busan Jazz Festival, a paid event, will be taking place simultaneously at the same venue, so expect large crowds. Parking is not available, so use public transit if possible.
