G-Star, Korea’s premier game expo, will be held from Nov. 14 to 17 at BEXCO in Haeundae-gu District. This year’s event is set to be the biggest in its 20-year history. A record 3,281 exhibition booths will be displayed at the BTC Exhibition, open to the public, and the BTB Exhibition for game industry and trade professionals.
Nexon, one of Korea’s largest game developers, will return as the expo’s primary sponsor. The company is commemorating its 30th anniversary and will set up a massive pavilion to celebrate with fans.
Other participants include industry giants like Google Play. Netmarble, Krafton, Pearl Abyss and Steam.
Netmarble will introduce two new titles, Game of Thrones: King’s Road and Mongil: Star Dive. There will be 170 demo stations for fans to try out the latest games. The company will also sponsor a user tournament of its runaway hit Solo Leveling: Arise.
Krafton, known for its popular battle royale game PUBG: Battlegrounds, is participating for the eighth consecutive year. After a strong showing at Gamescom 2024 in Germany earlier this year, fans may have big expectations for Krafton’s presentation. The company will show gamers inZOI, Dinkum Mobile, Project Arc and other titles.
Game developer Pearl Abyss will present Crimson Desert, an open-world action-adventure game.
The global game distribution platform Steam will participate in G-Star for the first time. Steam will feature a Steam Deck Experience Zone, where visitors can test various games on the Steam Deck, a handheld gaming device.
In addition, G-Con, the G-Star Game Conference, will take place on Nov. 14 and 15. Speakers include Yoichi Erikawa, the co-founder and CEO of Koei Tecmo Holdings, and Yoshinori Kitase, the producer of Square Enix’s Final Fantasy series.
Finally, the Game Cosplay Awards will take place on Nov. 16. After an online preliminary round, the finals will be held on a special stage. The best cosplayers will split a purse of 6 million won. Then, on Nov. 17, the Cosplay All-Star Championship, a special “king-of-kings” competition, will be held to celebrate G-Star’s 20th anniversary. Past winners will duke it out to see who the ultimate cosplayer is, and the All-Star Champion will be appointed as a judge for the 2025 G-Star Cosplay Awards. Both events will be broadcast live on G-Star TV.
General visitors may purchase tickets to the BTC Exhibition through G-Star’s official website. Tickets cost 15,000 won for adults and 8,000 won for minors.
