Busan Metropolitan City is accepting applicants for the 2023 Information and Technology Assistive Device Supply Project. The program gives people with disabilities better access to smart devices and technology.

The project is a collaboration between the Ministry of Science and ICT and 17 municipal governments nationwide. It provides financial support to people with disabilities for purchasing assistive devices such as reading magnifiers and hearing aids. There are 125 different devices that can be supplied based on an applicant’s needs.

Eligible applicants include people with disabilities and disabled veterans. Busan will select recipients based on the level of disability, financial status and other conditions. The city will cover 80% to 94% of the cost of assistive devices to selected recipients.

Those who wish to apply for the program can do so until June 23. The application and supporting documents can be accessed and submitted to the official website of the Korea Agency Digital Opportunity & Promotion (at4u.or.kr).

Those who wish to apply in person can visit their local gu (district) or gun (county) office. Applications sent by mail should be postmarked by June 23. After processing the applications, the successful candidates will be announced on the official website of the Busan Metropolitan City after July 19.
