Apply to write for the Busan Children’s Newspaper
Busan is recruiting kids to write for the forthcoming Busan Children’s Newspaper, which will publish its first edition in June 2025. Applications are due by March 27.
The student journalists will cover various events and boost their writing skills through creative articles. Reporting will begin in April and continue until February 2026.
To help children fully immerse themselves in their roles, they will receive a package of traditional reporting materials, including a media pass, a reporter’s notebook and a traditional reporter’s cap.
The children will also receive sage advice from experienced journalists and take classes to enhance their reporting, writing and editing skills. The program will also name a Reporter of the Month, and winners will receive a monetary award.
Any enthusiastic writer in 4th to 6th grade is eligible to participate. To apply, prospective candidates must write a 100 to 300-character article (in Korean) on why Busan is a great city. Submissions should be made via the Naver form linked below. Busan will randomly select 200 participants and announce the results on its official website in mid-April, along with individual notifications.
