Recruitment is open for 2025 New Media Members
Busan City is now accepting applications for its 2025 New Media Members program until Jan. 20.
New Media Members deliver local news and information on city policies via YouTube and other social media platforms. The group serves as citizen reporters, covering various topics from culture, tourism and travel to city policies. Members are integral to burnishing Busan’s national and global reputation.
This year’s initiative aims to build upon the group’s success from 2024, when 450 of their 1,500 articles ranked in the top 10 of searches related to Busan on Naver, Korea’s leading search engine.
In 2025, the city is intensifying its efforts to market Busan as a “global hub city” and is increasing the number of New Media Members from 80 to 120. Any person nationwide who is passionate about Busan may apply. Any member whose articles, photographs or videos are selected and posted on official channels or platforms will be paid.
The 2025 New Media Members will comprise content creators in four categories:
• Bloggers (60 people)
• Photographers (10)
• Video Creators (30)
• Foreign Participants (20)
Candidates who pass the initial screening will undergo phone interviews to assess their suitability for the project. Foreign candidate interviews will be conducted in English.
