Korea first participated in the World Team Table Tennis Championships in 1956. That year, the Men's team failed to make it out of the group stage and the Women's team finished in 5th out of eight teams.

Since then, Korea has established itself as one of the premier players in table tennis, regularly fielding top paddlers in individual and team competitions. Despite Korea's place atop the global table tennis rankings, the nation has never hosted a World Table Tennis event.

That ends this month when Busan hosts the ITTF World Team Table Tennis Championships Finals Busan 2024 Presented by BNK Busan Bank. The prestigious international ping-pong tournament will take place at BEXCO from Feb. 16 to 25.

The world's best paddlers will be in town, serving and rallying their way to the coveted Swaythling and Corbillon Cups. Don't miss the chance to see Korean stars Shin Yu-bin, Jeon Ji-hee, Jang Woo-jin and Lim Jong-hoon.

This landmark event will promote Busan as a global sports city, after previously hosting the 2002 Asian Games and three matches during the 2002 FIFA World Cup.
