Helpful information for the Lunar New Year Holiday

During Korea’s biggest national holiday, Seollal, Busan Metropolitan City will implement temporary citizen-friendly policies.   


◎ Public Safety

Busan Metropolitan City Disaster Situation Room (재난안전상황실) and the Wild Fire Prevention Headquarters will be open 24 hours daily to respond to any unexpected disasters. 


◎ Transportation

All toll fees in Busan will be waived from Feb. 9 to 12. The toll roads in Busan include Geoga Grand Bridge, Gwangandaegyo Bridge, Eulsukdodaegyo Bridge, Busanhangdaegyo Bridge, Baegyang Tunnel, Sujeong Tunnel, Sanseong Tunnel and Cheonma Tunnel. 

To make holiday travel more convenient, departure times for the No. 1001 and 1004 buses at Busan Station will be extended to 1:30 a.m. In addition, the No. 29 and 1002 buses will depart at midnight from Busan Central Bus Terminal in Geumjeong-gu.

Furthermore, 486 locations, including schoolyards and public offices, will open to citizens to provide more parking spaces. Real-time traffic information will be broadcast via applications and social media channels. 


◎ Citizen Health and Safety

Across the city, 35 medical centers, including Dong-a University Hospital in Seo-gu, will be open all day to provide medical services to citizens. 

Public health centers in each gu (district) and gun (county) will operate the Emergency Operation Center (응급진료상황실) to offer information about the medical centers and pharmacies where patients can get medical services during the holiday.


◎ Cultural Events

A wide range of cultural events, exhibitions and activities will be presented across the city at facilities such as the Busan Museum and Busan Museum of Art. 

To commemorate the Year of the Blue Dragon, the Danubi Train at Taejongdae Park will offer a 1,000 won discounted price for those wearing Hanbok or whose names include Yong (용) or Ryong (룡). 

Additionally, Busan City Tour Bus will provide free tickets for those who take the day's first ride and will give discounted prices for individuals born in a dragon year (1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000, or 2012).
