As the nation’s no. 1 tourist destination, Busan has accommodation options for every budget. For visitors interested in a more lavish stay, the city is offering more choices than ever. Ananti at Busan Village and Wyndham Grand Busan Ljin have joined Busan’s roster of 5-star hotels, solidifying the city’s reputation for luxury accommodation.

Ananti at Busan Village, located in Gijang-gun County, opened in July 2023 and was granted its five stars in December. The sprawling complex offers 392 rooms, five swimming pools, green spaces, shopping, art galleries, multiple dining options and a 3.6-kilometer-long promenade encircling the entire “village.”

Guests stay in a wide range of cabins, which are lofted apartments on the low end and grand, private-pool penthouses on the high end. The basic cabins comfortably fit up to four adults, with a living room and bathroom on the first floor and a bedroom on the second floor.

The latest hotel to join the 5-star ranks is the Wyndham Grand Busan Ljin, which earned its stars last month. The newly-opened hotel, located on Songdo Beach in Seo-gu District, boasts state-of-the-art amenities and spectacular ocean views. Its prime location offers easy access to tourist hotspots in Western Busan, such as Busan Air Cruise and Songdo Cloud Walk.

Guests can stay in one of 271 rooms or suites, all of which are thoughtfully designed and appointed with contemporary comforts. Outside of the rooms, guests can enjoy a variety of international and local dining options, a comprehensive business center, and the Wellness Club featuring a fitness center, heated indoor pool and rejuvenating spa.

In addition, the establishment has 1,155 square meters of event space that can accommodate up to 600 conference guests and 420 banquet guests. Equipped with the latest audiovisual equipment, Wyndham Grand Busan Ljin is the ideal setting for a business event, wedding or gathering of any kind.

Hotel ratings are conducted every three years by the Korea Tourism Association. To secure a five-star rating, a hotel must score 900 points or more out of a total of 1,000 points. This includes 700 points based on a comprehensive evaluation of all facilities and services in and around the hotel, and 300 points awarded by a mystery guest.

As of February 2024, Busan has 10 five-star hotels; Ananti at Busan Village and Wyndham Grand Busan Ljin have joined Grand Josun Busan, Westin Josun Busan, Park Hyatt Busan, Paradise Hotel Busan and Signiel Busan in Haeundae-gu District; Nongshim Hotel in Dongnae-gu District; Lotte Hotel Busan in Busanjin-gu District; and Ananti at Busan Cove in Gijang-gun.
