Busan Metropolitan City, the Korean National Tuberculosis Association, and 16 public health centers citywide are offering free tuberculosis screenings for residents 65 years old and over. The screenings will be carried out through mobile test centers to reach as many residents as possible.

The mobile test centers, or buses, are fully equipped to check for TB infections via chest x-ray or sputum samples. The buses will visit senior centers, homeless shelters and will even travel directly to elderly citizens who suffer from impaired mobility. The initiative aims to reduce the risk of TB exposure to those who are immunocompromised and other vulnerable groups.

To receive a free TB screening, individuals must present a valid form of ID. Visit your local public health center for information on checkup dates and locations.
