Recruitment is open for 2024 New Media Members
Busan Metropolitan City is recruiting enthusiastic and talented individuals for the 2024 New Media Members.
New Media Members deliver local news and information on city policies via YouTube and other social media platforms. The group serves as citizen reporters, covering various topics from culture, tourism and travel to the future vision of Busan City.
In 2023, New Media Members played a pivotal role in raising Busan’s global profile and reputation. 400 out of 1,000 articles written by the Members were ranked in the top 10 in the search section of Naver View, a leading Korean search engine. Short-form videos on YouTube and Instagram featuring Busan’s best attractions reached 5 million views from global audiences.
The city is recruiting 80 members to create content; 50 blog writers, five photographers and 25 video creators will join the group. 10 foreigners will be selected as video creators.
This year, Busan is recruiting anyone nationwide who will devote themselves to promoting the city’s charms. Each member will enhance their capabilities with peers while performing various missions.
New Media Members working from March to December this year will create various content while getting opportunities such as workshops and training.
Any member whose blog posting, photograph or videos are selected and posted on the official news outlet or platforms will be paid. The application can be found in the Naver form below. After the application evaluation, a phone interview will be conducted.
The finalists will be announced on the city’s official social media platforms and via phone calls to the individuals.
