Busan Metropolitan City is pushing ahead with its 15-Minute City initiative. The plan is to develop walking-oriented communities citywide, where convenience facilities, schools, parks, jobs and essential services are within a 15-minute walk, bike or transit ride.

Busan will promote aspects of the 15-minute city plan through dramas, photocard news and short-form content that showcase the public services essential to this initiative. These include the Deullak Nallak (들락날락) children’s libraries, the HAHA Centers for senior citizens and medical buses that provide fully mobile and customized healthcare services in each community.

The content will be broadcast on Busan’s official social media accounts. A captivating video titled “When you open the door” (문을 열면) shows citizens enjoying various services. In addition, critically acclaimed movie director Kim Jin-tae, who was born and raised in Busan, will direct the drama “There are people, we connect people” (사람이 있습니다, 사람을 잇습니다) to highlight how 15-minute cities benefit the people.

As 2023 comes to a close, Busan City Hall is fully committed to creating a warm city where all citizens are happy.
