The city is hosting the Classic Park Concert at 6:30 p.m. on June 3 and 4 at the Hialeah Lawn Plaza at Busan Citizens Park. The event commemorates the construction of two landmarks: the Busan Opera House at North Port and the Busan International Art Center at Busan Citizens Park, expected to open in 2025 and 2026, respectively.

On June 3, world-class performers will take the stage to present various opera arias. Renowned conductor Chung Myung-whun will lead the KBS Symphony Orchestra. They will be joined by some of Korea’s most remarkable singers: Soprano Park So Young, tenor Park Seung-joo, baritone Kim Gihoon, and bass-baritone Gil Beyong Min. The Busan Metropolitan Chorus and the seasonal choir of the Busan Opera House will also perform.

The luxury ensemble will perform classics such as “La Traviata” by Giuseppe Verdi; “La Boheme” by Giacomo Puccini; and “Cavalleria Rusticana” by Pietro Mascagni.

On June 4, the Busan Philharmonic Orchestra and conductor Choi Soo-Yeoul will present various beloved classical music pieces. The selective repertories include Dmitrii Shostakovich’s “Festive Overture”; Edward Elgar’s “Salut D'Amour”; Antonin Dvorak’s “Slavonic Dances”; and Johann Sebastian Bach’s “Air On The G String,” among others.

The highlight of the night will be a joint performance of Beethoven’s “Piano Trios” with cellist Young Song, pianist Kim Taehyung and violinist Lee Jihye.

The outdoor concerts are free to attend and accommodate up to 5,000 guests on a first-come-first-served basis. So, bring a picnic mat and treat yourself to timeless music on a warm spring evening.
