Busan Metropolitan City will host a friendly match between the Korea national football team and the Peru national football team at the Busan Asiad Main Stadium in Yeonje-gu district at 8 p.m. on June 16. The city last hosted an international friendly in June 2019, when Korea defeated Australia 1-0.

The match will take place after the conclusion of the UEFA Champions League. That means Busan football fans may be able to watch international stars Son Heung-min and Lee Kang-in on the pitch. It may also be new manager Jurgen Klinsmann’s first victory as he prepares the team for the 2026 World Cup.

The match results from the city’s efforts to provide citizens with exciting opportunities and promote its candidacy to host the 2030 World Expo.
