참고자료(민속예술경연대회)

The city will host the 2023 Busan Folk Art Competition from May 12 to 13 at Baekunpo Sports Park in the Nam-gu district. Over the two-day event, around 800 people from 25 teams will present traditional folk singing, dancing and rituals. The performances are all considered part of Busan’s cultural heritage and essential to the national ethos.
The first day of the event is the youth competition and will feature 10 teams from local schools. The participating schools have all been designated as specialized schools for teaching and maintaining Busan’s folk arts culture. Busan High School of Arts represented the city and won first prize at the 63rd Korean Folk Art Festival in 2022, an annual competition showcasing folk performances from 19 regions across the country.
The second day of the event is a competition for the general public. Last year’s grand prize winners, Suyeong Jisinbapgi Conservation Association, will kick off day two with a shamanistic ritual honoring the God of the Earth.
The winning teams from the youth competition and general competition will represent Busan at the 64th Korean Folk Art Festival to be held in South Chungcheong Province in September 2023.
The event promises to be an exciting and vibrant celebration of Busan’s rich cultural heritage.
