Internet sensation “Baby Shark” will team up with Busan’s mascot, Boogi, to promote the city’s candidacy to host the 2030 World Expo. With “Baby Shark” garnering over 12 billion views, this partnership will boost global awareness of Busan’s World Expo ambitions.

The city and Pinkfong, the production company behind “Baby Shark,” collaborated on a new YouTube video titled “Save the Earth, Save the World.” In the video, Baby Shark and Boogi work together to save their animal friends. The characters help their friends deal with marine pollution and rising ocean temperatures through environmental protection measures, such as recycling.

The video’s messages include tackling the climate crisis and building sustainable communities to align with the themes of Busan’s World Expo bid. In addition, catchphrases such as “Let’s start together in Busan” and “Start here in Busan” will help increase global awareness of the city.
The animation, produced in English to appeal to a global audience, premieres on April 29. It will be available on Pinkfong’s official YouTube channel, as well as the city’s official Expo channel, World Expo 2030 BUSAN, KOREA.
