The 40th Busan International Short Film Festival is open until May 1. A total of 146 films from 39 countries will play at the Busan Cinema Center in Haeundae-gu district and the BNK Busan Bank Art Cinema Corner Theater in Jung-gu district.

Since 2012, the film festival has designated a Guest Country to showcase its history, art and culture through the camera lens. This year’s Guest Country is the United States. As part of the program, audiences can watch short films made by American artists Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton, two filmmaking pioneers and legends from the silent film era.

Thirteen films will be announced as award winners under four categories during the closing ceremony on May 1 at 7 p.m. at the Busan Cinema Center. Reservations can be made through the Busan Cinema Center website (dureraum.org), and tickets may also be purchased on-site if available. For more information, visit the festival’s official website (bisff.org/eng).
