The ‘crema the crop’: Busan to host national barista championship
The 2023 Korea National Barista Championship will take place from April 23 to 25 in the Grand Ballroom at BEXCO. This is the first time in KNBC’s history that the competition will occur outside the Seoul Metropolitan Area.
During the competition, baristas will serve judges 12 drinks in 15 minutes. Competitors must make four beverages within three categories - espresso, milk beverage and signature beverage. Judges will evaluate each barista on technical knowledge and ability, taste, and presentation.
The event is hosted by the Korean chapter of the Specialty Coffee Association, which hosts the World Coffee Championships. The KNBC is one of six events comprising the Korea Coffee Championships. The winners of each event will represent Korea at the World Coffee Championships in Athens, Greece, later this year.
