Busan will host online and offline events to commemorate the second anniversary of the city’s seagull mascot, Boogi.

Boogi, whose name combines Busan and “galmaegi” (seagull in Korean), will meet with fans at an event on April 16 at 2 p.m. The fan meeting will take place at the Haeundae Atelier Gallery in the old Haeundae train station.

The event space will also feature a pop-up shop selling Boogi-inspired merchandise. The shop will be open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on April 16, and visitors can purchase items such as postcards, t-shirts, and plush toys.

In addition, Busan will soft-launch a YouTube channel dedicated to Boogi on April 16 before officially launching it on June 4. The channel will feature video blogs of Boogi doing various activities, such as working different jobs or performing the latest K-pop dances. Furthermore, city officials will collect content ideas from fans that attend the anniversary event.
