Children’s stories come to life on stage
The Sarangchae Theater invites children and their families to enjoy their 2023 lineup. Sarangchae Theater, part of the Busan Cultural Center, opened in 2017 as a theater dedicated to kid-friendly programming.
The 2023 lineup includes well-known children’s stories performed by local theater groups. The season opened with “Snow White and the Magic Mirror,” as presented by “Donggurami,” a Busan acting troupe. “Snow White” will run from March 16 to April 27.
The Busan Metropolitan Theater will stage “The Ugly Duckling” from May 3 to 28. OHOO Theater, another actors’ troupe, will show “Peter Pan” from June 9 to June 23.
Later in the year, Theater Young, Korea’s first shadow play theater company, will collaborate with Busan artists to perform “Peter and the Wolf,” from Aug. 18 to Sept. 24.
Tickets to each show at Sarangchae Theater cost 20,000 won and can be purchased by phone (051-607-6000) or on the Busan Cultural Center website (Korean language only, bscc.or.kr). Tickets can also be purchased at the theater box office on the day of the performance.
