Busan Metropolitan City will present a special fireworks display, “2030 Busan World Expo: Night of Light,” to express the strong commitment and aspirations of Busanites to host the World Expo 2030 in Busan. The event will take place at 7:30 p.m. on April 6 at Gwanganlli Beach.

The affair begins with an opening ceremony, followed by a talk show featuring residents’ stories about World Expos. Afterward, the music group KARDI will perform “City of Wonder,” a promotional song for Busan’s bid to host the Expo in 2030. Then, participants will countdown to the main event.

The primary fireworks display begins at 8:30 p.m. and lasts for 30 minutes. The show's highlight is “Niagra Falls,” which features fireworks cascading down like a waterfall from the railings of Gwangandaegyo Bridge. Narration will be provided throughout the show to enhance citizens’ viewing experience.

The city hopes the “Night of Light” will showcase Busan’s many charms and appeal to the inspection team from the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE), the governing body in charge of World Expos.

To facilitate the fireworks show, the city will implement new traffic regulations on Gwangandaegyo Bridge and the surrounding area from April 2 to 7. Drivers should expect lane closures as the city installs fireworks equipment.

On the event day, April 6, the bridge will undergo temporary closures. From 3:30 p.m to midnight(24:00). the upper deck towards Nam-gu (district) will shut down. The lower deck towards Haeundae-gu will shut down at 6:30 p.m to midnight(24:00).
