This spring, Busan will become a dance floor for all dancers as the city will hold the “Busan Dance Festival.” The competition will take place in Seomyeon and Jeonpo-dong (neighborhood) throughout the month of April. The festival is open to all citizens as dancers compete for their share of 30 million won.

The competition consists of two categories: the one-on-one battle for individual dancers aged 15 to 39 and the dance performance championship for teams made up of three to 20 dancers.

Each round of the one-on-one competition will be held at the car-free zone next to the CGV Daehan in Busanjin-gu, with winners crowned the same day. Different dance styles will be featured on different days: B-Boy dancing will take place on April 1, Freestyle on April 2, Hip-Hop on April 8 and Waacking on April 9.

The preliminary round of the dance performance championship will take place virtually. Dance crews will submit their videos online. Teams that pass the preliminary round will compete on stage. The semifinals will take place on April 15 at the Busan e-Sports Arena in Busanjin-gu. Champions will be crowned in the finals on April 29 at the Norimaru Youth Center, also in Busanjin-gu.

Just Jerk, a famous dance crew here in Korea, will give a special performance during the final round of the dance performance championship. They will also be among the panel of judges to crown the dance festival winners.
