Busan continues rebranding
City Hall is hosting surveys to confirm the designs for the new slogan "Busan is Good" and the city symbol. Three contenders are outlined below:
Option 1: Three-dimensional (3-D) structure grafting and artificial intelligence (AI) images
The city slogan, "Busan is Good," is used in both Korean and English. The symbol utilizing Busan's English letters B and S to make Korea's first 3-D city symbol will incorporate unique colors and angles.
Option 2: Icons to illustrate the diversity of Busan
This slogan will harness unique icons and five city characteristics: love, happiness, fish, mountains and location. This symbol utilizes five Hangul (Korean writing system) characters, ㅂ, ㅅ, ㄱ, ㅇ and ㅅ, to create diverse figures of Busanites.
Option 3: Representing Busan as the gateway city to the world
The city slogan will show the characteristics of the city that connect it to the world as a maritime destination where history and the future co-exist. The ㅂ character will show the city as a gateway of innovation and openness.
City Hall will open polling locations at Busan Station (metro line 1), Seomyeon Station (metro line 1 and 2) and Gwangan Station (metro line 2) from March 4 to 5. Additional locales will be available at local high schools and universities throughout the city from March 6 to 8.
