Busan Metropolitan Library is hosting an exhibition featuring artists Dom Lee and K. Lee (Keunhee Kim) till entitled "Portraying Our Time on the Mountain (산의 시간을 그리다)" till March 12. Dom Lee and K. Lee have worked on magazines and children's books in both Korea and the U.S. The "Sound of Firecracker (The Sound of Firecrackers)" is one of their representative pieces and a selection of an illustration exhibition at the 1996 Bologna Children's Book Fair.

The exhibit's highlight is the display of "Seoraksan Diary." The visual essay illustrates the plants and trees that came to the artists' minds when they thought about the decade, they spent living in Sokcho, a city in Gangwon near Seoraksan National Park. At the exhibition, visitors can enjoy the vividly depicted mountain and foliage scenery in their original canvas form. Kang Eunhee, chief of Busan Metropolitan Library, hopes this differentiated exhibit of original artwork will create an easy-to-access environment for citizens to become more familiar with books.

Busan Metropolitan Library is hosting this exhibition as part of the "Taste of Art and Children's Books for Citizens(시민에게 원화의 맛을,그림책의 맛을)" project. In collaboration with eight Korean publishing companies, select libraries in Nam-gu (district), Saha-gu and Jeonggwan-eup (town) are also hosting literary exhibits.
