Since its establishment in 1998, the Busan Museum of Art has grown in popularity as a representative museum of Busan. To commemorate its 25th anniversary this year, the museum plans to host seven unique exhibitions to enable its rebirth as a "Glocal Museum," which is deemed such for its seamless integration between local and global art. A leading modern art figure nicknamed "Asia's Andy Warhol" is Murakami Takashi, the creative mind behind one of the featured exhibitions, "MurakamiZombie."

Zombie-inspired content, symbolizing anxiety in modern society, is gaining popularity through movies, digital comics, characters and more. This free exhibition runs until April 16 and consists of approximately 160 works from the artist's 40-year career, highlighting anxiety, recent global crises and trauma. The showcase includes paintings, large sculptures, installations, and video art that reflect the artist's evolving perspective since the Tohoku earthquake and tsunami of 2011.

The Busan Museum of Art has decided to extend the exhibition period, which was originally scheduled to end on March 12, by about another month(~4/16).
