Run at your own pace: Run Busan Running Festival set for Nov. 14

run

The Run Busan Running Festival will take place from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, at North Port Waterfront Park, turning the waterfront into a running playground for runners of all levels.

Unlike conventional races built around times and rankings, the festival offers a relaxed day out for experienced runners, beginners and families alike. Visitors don’t have to run to enjoy the day, and participation is free.

The main event is the Sunset Run, a course of about 5 kilometers along the North Port waterfront as the sun goes down. Runners set off at 5 p.m. and have until 7 p.m. to finish, so participants can go at their own pace. The run is limited to 500 participants, with registration on a first-come, first-served basis.

The day’s program:

Noon to 1 p.m.: Running coaching sessions, plus a yoga and Zumba wellness class

1 to 2 p.m.: Crew Ranking Competition, with about 100 Busan running crews competing in sprints and relays

2 to 3 p.m.: Citizen Fitness Challenge, testing flexibility, agility and strength

3 to 3:30 p.m.: Running Talk Show with invited running influencers

3:30 to 4:20 p.m.: Taekwondo and circus performances

4:20 to 4:40 p.m.: Best-Dressed Runner Contest and awards

5 to 7 p.m.: Sunset Run

5:30 to 7 p.m.: Finish-line celebration concert

Running brand booths, an artisan market, a picnic zone and hands-on running activities will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Visitors who post festival photos on social media can enter a prize draw. Organizers recommend bringing a picnic mat and dressing warmly.

Program times may change depending on conditions. Full details and registration are available at runbusanrun.com and on the Eventus event platform.
