F1963 exhibition invites you to experience love, nature and the universe

Acclaimed French artist Jean-Michel Othoniel brings his mesmerizing glasswork to Busan in “In the Labyrinth of Love.”  The exhibition runs until Dec. 31 at F1963, a former factory-turned-cultural complex in Suyeong-gu District.

The show is part of a series of events marking Busan’s 2028 World Design Capital (WDC) designation. By bringing world-class artistic content to one of the city’s urban regeneration landmarks, the exhibition offers a glimpse of how design can shape how people experience and engage with their surroundings.

Othoniel’s jewel-like glass sculptures and installations have been presented by leading cultural institutions around the world, including the Louvre Museum and Center Pompidou in Paris, the Museum of Modern Art in New York, and the Leeum Museum of Art in Seoul.

His art explores mythology, symbolism, dreams and healing, transforming these abstract themes into luminous forms through glass and light. Reflective surfaces, intricate structures and vivid colors invite viewers to look beyond their immediate beauty and develop their own interpretations through personal engagement with the works.

Notably, this exhibition marks Othoniel’s first presentation in Busan and his largest solo exhibition in Korea to date. Several works draw on Busan’s distinctive identity, including its ocean and maritime pieces.

Tickets are available through the official F1963 website. Admission is 10,000 won for adults aged 19 and over; 8,000 won for youths aged 13 to 18; and 6,000 won for children aged 3 to 12. Admission for children younger than 36 months is free. For more information, visit the website linked below.
