Busan Hangul Institute opens registration for free Korean classes
Want to level up your Korean? The Busan Hangul Institute starts accepting registrations at 10 a.m. Aug. 3 for its free 12-week Korean language program.
Run by the Busan Global City Foundation, the courses are designed to help Busan's international students and graduates build the language skills they need for careers in Korea. Classes run Sept. 7 to Nov. 26.
Applicants must show a valid Alien Registration Card with a D-2, D-4, D-10 or F-4 visa.
A 50,000 won deposit is required to encourage regular attendance — but it's fully refunded once a student completes the course. Students who achieve their target score on the TOPIK exam also receive a full refund of their test fee.
The institute has added two new courses this semester: Business Korean and Korean for Job Seekers. Both are built around the vocabulary and phrases used in Korean workplaces and job hunts, giving students practical communication skills for real-world situations.
Spots are limited and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Online registration closes Aug. 28.
After applying online, students must also register in person between Aug. 31 and Sept. 4 to lock in their spot.
