Summer weekends in Busan: 2026 Busan Sea Library
The 2026 Busan Sea Library will be held every weekend from June 13 to July 5 at Millak Waterside Park. This open-air library invites visitors to read in a peaceful seaside setting.
This year’s theme, “Arrival–Berthing–Departure,” highlights the enriching journey of reading, through which readers encounter fascinating new cultures and knowledge and weave them into their daily lives—much like ships arriving at a port, staying for a while and then setting sail for a new destination.
Visitors can freely choose from a curated selection of 3,000 books, specially chosen to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the opening of Busan Port.
The event also offers diverse cultural programs that encourage participants to share their insights and spark a sense of community. One of the key programs is Switch OFF, Reading Party ON, a device-free reading and discussion session. Another highlight is Book. Talk. City, a series of talks by well-known writers.
Furthermore, B-Bookspot introduces local bookshops, publishers, book-themed cafes and public libraries across the city.
