Starting Dec. 16, Busan Concert Hall presents a special lecture series titled “Melodies of Love and Wandering,” offering thoughtful explorations of the most enduring themes in classical music. The program includes four insightful sessions held in Chamber Hall.

Each lecture highlights one of four influential composers—Ravel, Schubert, Bizet, and Bach—and delves into the essence of art and the emotional currents underlying their signature works. Led by music critics and culture-sector professionals, the series invites audiences to experience each composer’s world through nuanced interpretation and contextual storytelling.

The program unfolds across four sessions:

- On Dec. 16 at 7:30 p.m., music critic Moonkyung Kim opens the series with a lecture on Ravel’s “Boléro,” focusing on the theme “A Dance Beyond Time.”

- On Dec. 17 at 7:30 p.m., critic Seungin Na follows with a session on Schubert’s “Winterreise.”

- On Dec. 18 at 7:30 p.m., Jongho Park, head of Pungwoldang, an institution specializing in classical music lectures and recordings, explores the enduring appeal of Bizet’s “Carmen” under the theme “A Stage of Love and Destiny.”

- On Dec. 20 at 11 a.m., critic Hee-chang Cho concludes the series with a lecture titled “Bach: The Beginning and the End of Music,” offering a comprehensive interpretation of the composer’s oeuvre.

Each session costs 30,000 won and can accommodate 200 attendees. Registration information is available on the Busan Concert Hall’s official website.
