BeFM Kids bolsters English learning opportunities

Busan English Broadcasting has launched BeFM Kids, a new YouTube channel created to teach children the English language.
The channel is a collaborative effort between Busan City and the Busan Global City Foundation, offering a diverse range of engaging English resources.
Videos primarily target children under 10 years old, aiming to provide natural exposure to English and foster an easy, fun learning experience. The various materials offered through the channel are strategically designed to elevate the quality of public education services by thoroughly considering children’s developmental levels and interests.
The programs include a maze-solving game featuring Boogi, Busan’s mascot, and a video series teaching practical English phrases for various activities, such as taekwondo and K-pop dance.
Additionally, Sam Hammington, a popular entertainer from Australia, and his sons will lead a storytelling-style segment with performances such as cooking and scientific experiments, helping viewers become familiar with the language as if watching an amusing web series.
Nancy, a beloved K-pop idol from the group Momoland, will also deliver K-pop-related expressions. Since the full slate of content is expected to be released one by one, viewers are encouraged to subscribe to stay updated on the channel’s latest offerings.
Meanwhile, Busan English Broadcasting continues to run its “All Star: Participation Program,” which encourages active engagement from citizens. This program features an English quiz session every Monday at 6:45 p.m. and singing lessons with singer Johan Kim every Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.
Every participant in each episode receives a mobile voucher worth 100,000 won, redeemable for items such as chicken or pizza coupons. With a wide array of creative learning materials from BeFM and BeFM Kids, Busan is becoming a more accessible city for English learners of all ages.
