With a legacy spanning over 800 years, the Thomanerchor Leipzig comes to Busan to enchant audiences with its sacred harmonies. On Sept. 12 at 7:30 p.m., this world-renowned boys’ choir will grace the stage of the Busan Concert Hall, making its long-awaited return to Korea nearly a decade after its last visit.

Founded in 1212, the Thomanerchor is composed of young singers aged 9 to 18. Among its distinguished Thomaskantor, a title given to its musical directors, none left a greater legacy than Johann Sebastian Bach, who served for 27 years and profoundly shaped the choir’s identity, a tradition still alive today.

For this performance, the choir will be joined by three guest musicians: Organist Felix Schönherr, cellist Sascha Werchau and double bassist Tilman Schmidt. Under the direction of its 18th Thomaskantor Andreas Reize, 42 young male vocalists will weave an atmosphere of awe and beauty, inviting the audience into a world of celestial sound.

Tickets are priced at 70,000 won for the R section, 50,000 won for the S section, and 30,000 won for the A section. A special student ticket is available for 10,000 won to those born between 2001 and 2012 and currently enrolled in schools in Busan or Gyeongsangnam-do Province. Reservations can be made through the four ticketing platforms listed below. For further details on the performance and discounts, please visit the Busan Concert Hall’s official website.
