Daily Busan
A conversation with Prenuew, an international student
“If I Were Reborn, I Would Live in Busan Too,” a new web series on BusanTube, the city’s official YouTube channel, has released its second episode. The series features people from various backgrounds as they share their personal experiences of living in Busan.
The videos offer a glimpse into what life in Busan is like for non-Koreans, highlighting the city’s unique charms from a fresh perspective. For this edition, we spoke with Indian student Prenuew, a featured guest from the second episode. As an experienced influencer and content creator herself, she shares her journey of living in Busan and her vivid impressions of the city.
Q. Could you please introduce yourself?
I’m Prenuew Siddharth Ramteke from Tirora, Maharashtra, India. After completing my early studies in India, I moved to Korea for my master’s. I’m also a skincare influencer and YouTuber. Most of my Instagram and YouTube content is aimed at students who want to study in Korea. I guide them, share practical tips and try to show the country exactly as I experience it.
Q. What inspired you to study in Korea, particularly in Busan? And what made you choose Global Business Administration as your major?
I was swept up in the Hallyu wave in 2019 — K-dramas, K-pop, the whole culture. What really hooked me was K-beauty: The innovation, the routines, the products. Korea felt like the right place to grow. I chose Busan because the city’s vibe is calming and warm; the sea keeps me grounded. Gwangalli Beach is where I feel most at peace, and Busan’s people are genuinely kind; they’ve helped me whenever I’ve been lost or confused.
For academics, I’ve always wanted to build a business. Global Business Administration gives me hands-on learning, international exposure and access to faculty with real-world experience, all of which align with my plan to launch a company of my own.
Q. From an Indian perspective, how would you describe Busan? Which aspects do you think would especially attract Indian tourists?
Busan is a smart, seaside city with heart. The transport system works beautifully, with smart buses and subways, pedestrian-friendly features like road-embedded safety lights and smart poles that make streets feel safe and connected.
Indian visitors will love the beaches, the festival culture, the cafe scene and the city’s clean, modern feel. Food is manageable too; there are Indian restaurants, global markets for groceries and cooking at home is easy.
Q. How has your experience of studying abroad in Busan influenced your values or career goals?
Living here has sharpened my adaptability and entrepreneurial focus. The city’s pace and innovation push me to think globally while staying grounded in who I am. It’s reinforced my plan to learn from the best and then build something of my own.
Long term, I want to start my own skincare brand. After graduating, I aim to work at a Korean skincare company first to gain hands-on product and market experience, including formulation, branding and distribution, the whole cycle.
Q. Could you give some advice to students in India who are thinking about studying in Busan?
You’ll feel welcomed here. People are considerate and willing to help. Vegetarians may need a little planning, but between Indian restaurants, global markets and home cooking, it’s absolutely doable. Come with curiosity, learn some basic Korean, and be open—you’ll thrive.
