Have a dog? Your daily walks can help keep your neighborhood safe

The Busan Dog Petrol at Gwangalli Beach
Walk with your dog and keep your neighborhood safe! The Busan Dog Petrol (a combination of "pet" and "patrol") program is recruiting new participants until May 10. Regardless of nationality, any adult resident of Jung-gu, Seo-gu, Yeongdo-gu, Buk-gu, Gangseo-gu, or Gijang-gun whose dog is officially registered may apply.
Last year, Busan Dog Petrol volunteers completed 13,514 rounds and helped make the city safer by identifying and reporting damaged infrastructure and potential hazards.
Due to its success, the program is expanding citywide. Volunteers are needed for the newly added areas.
Applicants will undergo a two-stage selection process: An initial document screening followed by a practical assessment that tests a dog's responsiveness to commands and their behavior toward external stimuli. For more information and to apply, please visit the official Dog Petrol website.
