Busan to host the nation's biggest sports festival
In October, Busan will be filled with the fierce spirit of competition as it hosts the 106th National Sports Festival and the 45th National Para Games.
According to the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee, the festival will welcome 28,791 participants, including 19,418 athletes and 9,373 officials.
Additionally, Korean sports organizations operating overseas will send a 1,515-member delegation comprising athletes and officials from 18 countries.
Athletes will compete in 48 events, with an additional two events, foot volleyball and jiu-jitsu, featured as demonstration sports.
Following the festival, the 45th National Para Games will take place from Oct. 31 to Nov. 5, with 31 sports played across 38 venues citywide.

부산, 전국 최대 규모 체육대회 개최 10월, 부산이 뜨거운 스포츠 열기로 물든다. 제106회 전국체육대회와 제45회 전국장애인체육대회가 잇따라 열린다. 대한체육회에 따르면, 이번 대회에는 선수 1만9,418명과 임원 9,373명 등 총 2만8,791명이 참가한다. 또한, 해외 한인체육단체에서도 18개국 1,515명의 선수단이 참가해 대회의 국제적 위상을 높일 예정이다. 선수들은 48개 종목에서 기량을 겨루며, 족구와 주짓수는 시범종목으로 운영된다. 전국체전 이후에는 10월 31일부터 11월 5일까지 제45회 전국장애인체육대회가 부산 전역 38개 경기장에서 31개 종목으로 진행된다. |
