Busan to provide evening, weekend child care service

Busan City will run a pilot program to support parents who need temporary child care. The service is available from 6 p.m. to midnight on weekdays and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends and holidays except Jan. 1, Lunar New Year holiday, Chuseok holiday and Christmas Day. 

The program takes place at designated nurseries and kindergartens citywide and costs 4,000 won per hour. Parents with children aged between six months to 6 years old and who are residents of Busan City can use the service. 

Reservations should be made at least a day in advance. Same day child care is available if there is a vacancy at the specific center. Each facility can accommodate eight children—three infants and five toddlers—per hour.
