Busan Alley Festival celebrates street culture
The 2024 Busan Alley Festival will take place from Aug. 30 to Oct. 6 across the city.
The Busan Alley Festival, which marks its second anniversary this year, will be held sequentially at four locations: Jeonpogonggu-gil Street in Busanjin-gu District, Bongsan Village Masil-gil Street in Yeongdo-gu District, Mangmi Alley in Suyeong-gu District, and Dadaepo Badanuri-gil Street in Saha-gu District.

The alley was full of hardware stores in the past, but now it has transformed into one of the hippest places for young people to enjoy cafés, pubs and restaurants.
Various events will keep people entertained during the festival: Jeonpo Beer All Day, a food market, a crafts market and DJ shows.

■ Bongsan Village Masil-gil Street, Sept. 6 to 8
Once a bustling village home to many laborers working in the shipyards, the area is now home to cafes and bookstores that are great places to visit for locals and tourists alike. The location will host the alley festival, offering acoustic music performances, talk shows and stargazing experiences. Hands-on activities run by local artists will also welcome visitors.

■ Mangmi Alley, Sep 27 to 29
B-Con Ground, a cultural complex under the Suyeong Overpass, is the main venue for the Mangmi Alley festival. For those who love reading books and arts and crafts, the festival offers various programs with independent bookstores and craft shops in the alley.

■ Dadaepo Badanuri-gil Street, Oct.4 to 6
Dadaepo Beach, the city’s best sunset point, hosts a festival where you can enjoy Dadaepocha, local restaurants, food stalls and DJ performances against the backdrop of the beach.
